Gift of Jam from Squeetle-E-Dee's Canned Creations

Looking for a thank you gift, a hostess gift, or a birthday gift for a friend? The Janesville Farmers Market is a great place to shop. One idea for a gift is homemade jam or jellies from Sqweetle-E-Dee's Canned Creations.

Sqweetle-E-Dee's Canned Creations makes a large variety of homemade jams, jellies, relishes, salsas, and pickles. Put a bow on top or tie a ribbon with a pretty tag around a jar, and you have a beautiful gift that supports a local business.

I bought a Vintage Font Bundle from Heritage Type Co. and edited a template that was included with the package. I have a lot to learn, but thankfully the company has helpful turorials on its site.

So, here is a Shop Local sign that you may use if you like. Links back to this site are appreciated, but not required.

Shop Local. A person in your community will really appreciate your business.

Advertising That Your Business is Locally Owned and Operated

Advertise That Your Business is Locally Owned and Operated on Facebook

More people want to support small businesses since the Covid-19 Pandemic. According to a recent Businesswire article, a study commissioned by Groupon found that 75% of the 2000 consumers surveyed planned to support local merchants as much as possible once restrictions were lifted in their communities.

If you own and run a small business, make sure that people can find out that your business is locally owned and operated. One quick and inexpensive way to advertise this is in the About section of your business Facebook page. If you only have a minute or two, just write “Locally Owned and Operated since _____!” at the beginning of your “About” paragraph. If your business is not a franchise, consider adding “Independently Owned and Operated!” to the paragraph.

Another option:

(Your Business) is a locally owned and operated business in (Your Town) that offers ____, ____, and _______ ...

If you have a few more minutes, consider adding more:

The business was founded by ________ , who (tell something about why or how he/she/they started the business).

Don’t neglect your About paragraph in your Facebook business page. Just a short sentence or two can make a big difference in helping people who are looking for locally-owned businesses find your business.
